Job Title: Financial Controller

Reporting to the Head of Operations of the European Private Markets platform

The Operations team is dedicated to the European Private Markets platform and is key to support the strong development of the platform.

Missions

The Financial Controller will participate to the ambitious growth of the business. Main responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the creation of new products
  • Assisting managers in closing transactions
  • Operational support of funds
  • Preparing regulatory, management, and ad hoc reports
  • Contributing to Processes & IT Tools evolutions

Activities
  • Help to support the growth of the private assets’ platform, a strategic growth area for LBP AM, by participating in the creation of new products in collaboration with other internal teams, including the structurer.
  • Assist investments managers in closing transactions, including:
    • Interacting with external counterparts for funding operations (managing fund return letters)
    • Managing KYC processes
  • Support the operational management of funds:
    • Managing capital calls and distributions
    • Supervising fund liabilities
    • Ensuring proper execution of corporate actions, position keeping
    • Controlling the valuation of portfolio securities (debts, funds, co-investments, etc.)
    • Controlling fund valuations
    • Monitoring all asset and liability operations of the funds
    • Maintaining the central reference database
  • Prepare regulatory, management, and ad hoc reports:
    • Preparing regulatory and management reports, including various ad hoc reports requested by certain investors
    • Automating report production
    • Contributing to responding to investor inquiries
    • Controlling the production of annual/semi-annual fund reports and supervising audits with external auditors
  • Contributing to processes & IT Tools evolutions
    • Contributing to processes creation or adjustment
    • Participating in exploration, feeding and amelioration of the IT tool.

Transversal responsibilities
  • Secretarial support for investment and monitoring committees
  • Contributing to operational questions in response to tenders, creating new products, and producing marketing documentation
  • Reporting operational incidents according to defined procedures and participating in their resolution
  • Participating in internal procedures and operating methods
  • Participating in the implementation of recommendations from internal control teams

Functional Relationships
  • Internal functional relationships with the Risk Management Department, Legal Department, IT Department, Middle Office Supervision team, and Client Service team

  • External functional relationships with service providers (including custodians, valuers, and external auditors)

Required Skills
  • Education/Degree: Master’s degree (Bac+5)

  • 2-5 years of professional experience, with significant experience in operational roles within an asset management company, specifically in private markets (private debt, private equity, infrastructure equity, fund of funds)

  • Ability to work collaboratively on multidimensional projects involving several internal departments and external providers

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and synthesis skills; dynamism

  • Appetite for IT Tools and data analysis. Knowledge in DOMOS system is a plus.

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
