Laurent Lagarde joins LBP AM as Head of Quantitative Management

LBP AM announces the appointment of Laurent Lagarde as Head of Quantitative Management. He will lead the continued development of LBP AM's quantitative equity and structured management capabilities. 

Laurent Lagarde will be responsible for a team of eight investment professionals and will report to Guillaume Lasserre, Deputy Chief Investment Officer. His main mission will be to drive the development of quantitative and structured management capabilities, serving the specific objectives of investors in terms of performance, diversification, decorrelation, as well as the integration of ESG issues.

LBP AM's Quantitative Management division represents €13 billion in assets under management and distribution as of December 2023.

Laurent Lagarde (53) brings nearly 20 years of experience in asset management. He began his career in 1999 in a management consultancy, before joining BNP Paribas in an advisory role. In 2005, Laurent joined BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) as an Equity Quantitative Analyst in the international equity team. In 2010, he joined BNPP AM's THEAM subsidiary as a Structurer and in 2012 helped launch the quantitative management business. Since 2015, Laurent has been Head of Quantitative Equity Management at BNPP AM. 

Laurent Lagarde is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay and holds a PhD from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (specialising in mechanics), as well as an MBA from the IAE (Institut d'Administration des Entreprises) in Paris.
