La Banque Postale Asset Management appoints Grégory Clemente to develop its private equity business

La Banque Postale Asset Management (LBP AM), the conviction-based multi-specialist asset manager and SRI leader in France, announces the appointment of Grégory Clemente as Director of Private Equity. In his new role, Grégory will supervise the launch and development of LBP AM’s private equity expertise, for the Group and for third-party investors.

Grégory will also become a member of the LBP AM Executive Committee, reporting directly to the Chair of the Management Board Emmanuelle Mourey. He took up his new role on 14 September 2022 and is based in Paris.

His in-depth knowledge of the private equity industry and his expertise in responsible investing will prove to be indispensable strengths allowing us to take the lead in this asset class, which is now a vital component of asset allocation for both our institutional and our retail clients."

Grégory Clemente was appointed CEO of Proparco, the subsidiary of Agence Française de Développement (AFD) dedicated to private sector funding, in 2016. Grégory began his career in 1996 at Instituts d’Emission des Départements d’Outremer (IEDOM). He then joined the AFD group in 1998, where he was soon appointed as a financial manager, firstly in charge of group refinancing in the capital markets, and then as Head of market operations from 2005 onwards. He was appointed Deputy CFO in September 2008, before becoming AFD Director for Asia in 2011, where he managed, supervised and coordinated operations in 18 countries, for the head office and the network of 12 agencies and local branches. In 2014, he joined the Executive Committee as Risk manager, overseeing ECB comprehensive assessments, including asset quality reviews and stress tests. Grégory is the holder of a DESS postgraduate specialist diploma in banking & finance from Lyon University.
